Your job
CMDB stands for configuration management database, a database that clarifies the relationships between the hardware, software, and networks used by an IT organization. The CMDB stores information on the configuration of items like hardware, software, systems, facilities, and even personnel. This configuration data can include interdependencies between items, the history of changes to each item, and class and attributes—such as type, owner, and importance—for each item.
It’s the job of the SACM team to define which items should be tracked and how to do so. The goal of the CMDB is to give ABN AMRO the information needed to make better business decisions and run efficient ITSM processes. By centralizing all configuration information, leaders can better understand critical CIs and their relationships. CMDBs are important in impact analysis, root cause analysis, legal compliance, incident management, and change management.
The primary goals of the SACM process can be summarized as:
Support efficient and effective service management processes by providing accurate configuration information, thereby enabling the various process roles to make the right decisions more quickly.
Identify, control, record, report, audit and verify service assets and CI’s, including attributes and relationships, throughout the service lifecycle. Data quality is key here.
Someone who is a team-player, takes initiative, and communicates clearly in English (verbal and written). The candidate must have an eye for details, is curious and eager to learn, being able to work independently, work in a structured and generic way, and take initiative. The candidate should be able to perform data analyses on CMDB data, understand the importance of CMDB data and knows or wants to learn how to present the results from his/her analyses. Being able to find root causes when data quality is not up to par and thinks about possible solutions to rectify the data quality issue, is part of the job.

The team follows the principle of hybrid way of working, which means you will spend one or two days per week in the office. The rest you will be working from home.
The team works according to the DevOps & Agile methodology. Every morning you attend the stand-up in which the tasks are divided and monitored.
You are working on improving the quality of the CMDB, based on user stories.
You will make sure that the CMDB is up and running. There are incidents (data quality issues) that occur that you are going to look into and eventually will fix.
For your work you often engage with various stakeholders such as other IT departments, and software suppliers.
